About The Artist

David Polka is an Oakland based artist that has murals all over the United States and is a well known for his colorful imagery and crisp line work inspired by tattoo art, Catholic Iconography, and imagery from his indigenous heritage. Originally from Las Cruses, New Mexico, David Polka studied art at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque before moving to Oakland and contributing to the Oakland art scene. David has had a studio at Faultline Artspace since 2012 and is one of the original 5 Faultline studio artists. David Polka and Ryan McJunkin from Faultline have collaborated on several screen prints (serigraphs) throughout the years.
