Chelsea Robot "The Protector (espiritu)" 8x10 painting
8x10 inch painting on Yupo film mounted on 8x10 inch wood panel
Growing up I thought I was an alien. Making art has always been an escape from the mundane, a retreat into my own paradise. I paint abstract dreamscape paintings with unfurling colors and movement to transport the viewer into an emotional state. While the work is completely subjective, they are often subliminal representations of personal experiences. This series of paintings are an invitation to a place of comfort, synesthesia, or to hinder innermost feelings, exploration and the notion that anything is possible. The shapes and textures suggest a mortal sensuality and feelings of interacting with the elements immersed in nature.
I believe The Protector is someone we need right now. She is protecting the hearts and lives in despair, the hurt of the world can be transmuted.
