Bre Gipson "Deep Forest of Night" 8x10 painting
8x 10 inch painting on wood panel
Bre is an interdisciplinary, installation artist who uses common and discarded materials as a means to physically reform the landscape. She received her BA from the University of California Berkeley and her MFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art. Mystified by the possibilities of what may or may not exist, I am interested in exploring the unknown and exploiting our changing beliefs of what is real. Influenced by the blurry lines between history, myth, science fiction, and innovation; my work investigates the overlap of imaginary space and the natural world.
Deep forest of night is an exploration into texture and emotion. My intention for the piece is to transport the viewer somewhere else. It is meant to inspire reflection and a moment of pause within our busy worlds.
